Proper management of all wildlife on the ranch is very important
to us, therefore we strive to offer the highest quality habitat and nutrition to all species that inhabit the ranch. On the
whitetail side, trophy management has been in place for the last seven years. During these seven years the use of both
supplemental feeding and summer and winter food plots has been implemented. At the Ace High Ranch our deer have a number
of free choices protein feeders stocked with Purina Mills® AntlerMax® to eat from year round. Along with the supplemental
feeding we also offer seasonal food plots in a variety of forages. These practices have helped us to see definite
improvement in the health and antler growth of our herd over the past few years. Along with the nutritional side of the
management, population management has also been important in helping to increase the buck to doe ratio from season to
season. Our deer also have plenty of corn to eat during the year even though it doesn't offer much nutritional value, but
they sure do love it! On the game bird and waterfowl side, quail and turkey feeders are in place year round, to help keep
their populations on the rise. Spring sunflower and maze are also planted to help benefit all of the birds on the ranch.
The ranch is in the process of creating a wetland marsh to help benefit the migratory waterfowl that stop by every winter,
when it is finished it will be planted and serve as a great wintering habitat for all the ducks to stop and feed at. These
are just a few of the management techniques utilized at the Ace High ranch in order to benefit all wildlife and to ensure a
quality hunt for all of our customers.
